Pastoral (Program) for a Culture of Peace
Its main objective is the prevention, transformation and resolution of conflicts.
It is devoted to keep good relations with religious institutions, organizations,
countries and civil society. This program is personaly supervised by our
Executive Director, Rev. Raimundo Garcνa Franco.
Pastoral (Program) for Rural Companionship
It is devoted to the empowerment of rural communnities as a vulnerable sector of society. Its activities are entitled to promote the role of women, adolescents and children. Its programs also foster the reforestation of the area, organic agriculture and the ecologial breeding of animals through the available resources to raise people΄s quality of life. This program is developed at the farm "El Retiro" where the necessary infrastructure has been created to promote organic agriculture and other practices related to it. This farm is close to Rural Popular Councils. The program is coordinated by Specialist. Rita Garcνa Morris.
Pastoral (Program) for Urban Companionship
It comprises activities of pastoral companionship to people living with AIDS/HIV,
people either physically or mentally disabled, women and elderly people. It is
devoted to help society's most vulnerable sectors by giving them food support,
basic commodities, and providing services such as hairdressing, laundry, ironing,
chiropody and others through a kind, respectful and merciful treatment.
Pastoral
(Program) for Communitarian Emergencies
Its activities are directed to solve infrastructural problems and equipping
other institutions engaged in social service. It also offers family and
communitarian support focused mainly in the safety of roofs, access to drinking
water and lavatories. This program is coordinated by Rev. Raimundo Garcνa
Franco.
Pastoral (Program) for the Protection to the Biosystem
Its activities are devoted to protect and rehabilitate the environment and to
contribute to preserve health from a holistic perspective. It specially
encourages the use of alternative energies and in that respect it has an ample
work in Biogas production from animal solid waste. This has made of Matanzas the
province with most biodigestors in the country (more than 200 biogas plants and
over 4500 people benefited). The program is coordinated by Specialist. Rita
Garcνa Morris.
Pastoral (Program) for Reflection and Dialogue
(Academical)
It promotes activities for reflection, and processes for the analysis,
diagnosis, proposals and actions to contribute to solve problems through
communitarian involvement and dialoguing with decision-taking people.
Chair Desmond Tutu - Mahatma Gandhi: Church and Society. This professorship will provide reflections and studies about Church and believers and their connection with society.
Chair A. Schweizer- T. De Chardνn: Holistic, Christian Vision. This professorship will provide reflections and studies related to the so-called Life system of which the human being is a part of, important aspects of development and values of people. It will also collaborate to the biblical-theological education of believers in partnership with any of the existing specialized institutions for the sake of a better Christian participation in the human enhancement.
Among the themes to discuss are: Spirituality, Liturgy, Intrareligious and Intrachristian dialogue, Human values, Human rights and duties, Resolution of conflicts, Sexuality from a pastoral approach, The value of disability, Gender and sexual preferences, Senior age, Family and self-development, Current matters concerning youngsters, adolescents and children, Bioethics and Communitarian development and others.

It is at the service of believers and religiousinstitutions to help them with matters related to faith, behavior, sexuality and we also offer support to people living with HIV/AIDS and their relatives.
